King Bekori ordered the burning of the elders' houses inspired by events in another kingdom. Kuma stands up against King Bekori in what would be remembered as the "one man revolution". By popular demand, Kuma would become the new king of Sorbet. One day, Bonney would mistakenly eat an Akuma no Mi that would allow her to alter his age. It was then that they were visited by the former rulers of Sorbet for advice. King Bekori spreader false rumors about the tyranny of Kuma's rule and convinced the Marine to help him regain his kingdom, however, Kuma defeated them and became a wanted man. Kuma continued to search for a cure for Bonney, until Dragon advised him to visit his friend Vegapunk. Vegapunk promised to cure Bonney, but as a condition he asked to be able to make clones of Kuma to create warriors that can help the people. Kuma agreed and Vegapunk decided to call these warriors "Pacifista" in honor of Kuma's attitude.
