After the revelation of the toy soldier as Rebecca's father, it's time to explain what happened 10 years ago in Dressrosa. One night, the King Riku was visited by Donquixote Doflamingo, the rightful heir to the kingdom. Doflamingo proposed to sell him the country for 10.000.000.000 Berries in exchange for the pirates not causing any problems. The King Riku, who had always ruled peacefully, went to plead the citizens so they lend him money without being able to tell what was happening. The people of Dressrosa gladly agreed to hand over their goods to their king, but from far away Doflamingo controls both the King Riku as his army to attack the citizens and burn the city, creating a chance to rise as the hero who saves the situation.
