Oden managed to defeat Ashura Douji, proclaiming himself the leader of the region. The shogun had no choice but to back down with the decision to disinherit his son, proclaiming him the daimyo of Kuri. But a daimyo needs vassals, so Oden decides to turn all of his followers into samurai. Some time later, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi end up shipwrecked at Kuri Beach, where they are rescued by Kawamatsu. Being strange creatures for the locals, the three end up being captured and abused, but Oden manages to free them by adding them to his list of followers. Later, Oden's followers decide to rob Yasuie to raise funds for their lord. However, Yasuie convinces them that the best way to serve him is by training to be the best samurai. Three years later, Oden's followers have become respectable samurai, but now the country is facing the arrival of the Shirohige Pirates.
