Kuzan decided to share a drink with the pirates as he tells them his current situation. The Kurohige Pirates tried to get information out of him about the man with the “Fire Scar”, who they believe possesses a red Poneglyph and may be connected to the government. However, the Poneglyph only brings bad memories to Kuzan. It is then that Teach offers Kuzan to join his crew, offering him a new life. Back in the present, Kuzan tries to freeze Garp, but Garp gets off easily and slams Kuzan to the ground. Meanwhile, on Winner Island, the Heart Pirates have been defeated after their encounter with Teach. Bepo uses a medicine provided by Chopper that allows him to transform into Sulong without the need of a full moon, thus managing to save Law and swim away while carrying him.
