The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, la secuela de Breath of the Wild [Nintendo Switch - 12 de Mayo de 2023]

No sé si sea cierto, pero he visto algunos tweets afirmando que el libro tendrá la actualización de la línea temporal, ya incluyendo a Breath of the Wild y Tears of the Kingdom.

Yo creo que hay varias opciones que se me ocurren y/o he visto por ahí:

Ubicado justo después de Skyward Sword:
Sonia y Rauru son los fundadores del Hyrule que conocemos, con Sonia siendo descendiente directa y cercana de la Zelda de Skyward Sword. Las Zeldas de Minish Cap y Ocarina of Time son descendientes de Sonia y Rauru. Breath of the Wild y Tears of the Kingdom se ubicarían al final de todas las líneas temporales. Para esto habría que obviar lo de los orni, que se supone solo aparecen tras la inundación de Hyrule en Wind Waker.

Ubicado en la línea temporal de Link adulto
Sonia y Rauru han refundado Hyrule luego de la gran inundación (miles de años después, vamos).

Nueva línea temporal
Hay algún suceso que, luego de Skyward Sword, provoca una bifurcación temporal. Una línea sigue hasta Ocarina of Time (y da a pie a todo lo que conocemos ya), y la otra da a la fundación de Hyrule por Sonia y Rauru, y luego a los eventos de BotW y TotK, sin relación con el resto de juegos. Esta es la opción que supongo que tendría menos cosas que explicar, salvo el suceso que causase la bifurcación temporal, que incluso pudiera ser durante Skyward Sword (al fin que también hay viajes en el tiempo en ese juego).

Según la descripción del libro parece que sí, ya que hablan de "una nueva historia de Hyrule" (según Google Translator, no tengo una traducción mejor ).

Jo, pero claro que lo es. Yo creo que el único juego que han hecho teniendo en cuenta dicha línea ha sido Skyward Sword, en los demás se la pela a Nintendo, desarrollan el título y ya después lo acomodarán. En realidad la línea no existiría si los fans no la hubieran pedido con tanto fervor.

Pero también es divertido teorizar y todo eso, hay líneas temporales hechas por fans muy interesantes

El Viernes sale a la venta en Japón el esperado libro The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Master Works, el Artbook oficial del juego con 464 páginas llenas de ilustraciones, bocetos y demás. Hoy se ha publicado este video promocional donde podemos ver algunas páginas interiores, con una nueva y ALUCINANTE ilustración y la línea temporal del juego (en japonés de momento).

Nintendo ha mostrado la nueva cronología de The Legend of Zelda en el evento Nintendo Live 2024 de Sydney que está teniendo lugar este fin de semana. Podemos ver que tanto Breath of the Wild como Tears of the Kingdom están en una línea temporal diferente a la ya existente (aunque curiosamente están en la parte del "Héroe Victorioso", no sé si por falta de espacio o por otro motivo).

Por otra parte, el libro The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Master Works incluye la cronología oficial del juego junto con los acontecimientos de Breath of the Wild, para así conocer la historia completa de esta nueva e independiente línea temporal. Lo más curioso es que se establece que entre Breath of the Wild y Tears of the Kingdom han pasado varios años.

The king of Hyrule at this time enforces a tyrannical rule against the Sheikah to abandon their technology. The Sheikah splintered into a moderate faction and a militant faction. Before long, the militant group formed the Yiga Clan.

Purah and Robbie develop the Purah Pad.

The Historical Survey Team (later called the Zonai Survey Team) is established.

Link suffers serious injury. Rauru’s arm carries him up to the sky island.

Princess Zelda with the Purah Pad goes into the past.

天変地異。- The Upheaval

天変地異。ハイラル城が上昇し、空より遺跡が落下 各部族の集落にて異変が発生。
The Upheaval. Hyrule Castle rises into the air, mysterious ruins rain down from the sky all over the place, and unusual phenomena occur in the various communities.

The Zonai Survey Team begins investigating the fallen ruins and the Depths.

The Monster Control Group is formed. The search for the missing Princess Zelda begins.

Demon King Ganondorf is suppressed.

ゼルダ姫、白龍から人に戻る
The Light Dragon is returned to her human form: Princess Zelda.

Lo de que BotW/TotK están separados de la línea principal no es nuevo, luego del lanzamiento de BotW, Nintendo publicó una página web con la cronología de la franquicia, donde podíamos ver que el mismo no pertenecía a ninguna de las 3, sino que estaba al final de las 3, es mas, el año pasado, poco después del lanzamiento de TotK, el director estuvo en una entrevista donde dio a entender que:

El Hyrule que vemos en estos juegos no es el mismo que el de los predecesores, sino que estaría situado mucho mas en el futuro, donde el Hyrule de los anteriores pereció y desapareció, y es tiempo después de esto que los Zonai llegaron, y fundaron un nuevo Hyrule sobre las ruinas del antiguo, motivo por el cual Rauru es considerado "El primer rey de Hyrule", ya que sería el primer rey del nuevo Hyrule, así como sirve para explicar las inconsistencias de TotK, como el hecho de que las Gerudo hubiesen prestado su lealtad a la Princesa Zelda durante la época de la fundación, solo para que en OoT estas fuesen villanas, ya que las de OoT no son las mismas Gerudo que se pusieron del lado de la familia real, sino predecesoras.

Ya me ha llegado desde Japón el esperado libro The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Master Works, y como en el caso de sus hermanos mayores, es una auténtica PASADA. Indispensable para los fans de The Legend of Zelda
