This film was created for the Jump Super Anime Tour, is a promotional film created before they began to emit One Piece anime, created with the intention to demonstrate the possibilities of transferring this series to anime. As it is promotional, the seiyuus (dub actors) are different from those from the final version and the sound effects used either do not correspond to the ones used at the moment. In the movie appear Luffy, Nami and Zoro as members from the crew, reason why the history can be located after the defeat of Buggy. The argument, note that is not of Oda since it is somewhat simple, it is about a town under the tyranny of a pirate called Ganzack and how the arrival of Luffy causes that the town can again be free.

This film is the animated version of the first Romance Dawn that Oda created before One Piece, but with slight changes to it. It was created for the 40th Jump Super Anime Tour and later released on DVD. The biggest difference from the original story is that Luffy has already formed his crew, so they already have the Thousand Sunny and all. This film is the animated version of chapter 0, a special edition of the manga created as a prequel to the Strong World film. The OVA is a 3.000 copies limited edition of an exclusive promotion from the House Foods' food chain, so it's a very rare and limited material. The story tell us the origins of the battle of Edd War, where Gold Roger faced Shiki before conquering the Grand Line. Two years after this battle, the news from Roger's capture and his imminent public execution will spread around the world. Shiki surprised at the idea of thinking that Roger has been captured, decides to attack the Marine Headquarters, where he causes heavy casualties until he is finally reduced by Garp and Sengoku. Two years after his capture and after the Roger's death, Shiki escapes from his cell in Impel Down cutting his legs. Shiki will move to the inhospit Melview Island, where he will spend 20 years preparing for his revenge.

The first One Piece movie made ??entirely in 3D CGI format. This film is shorter than usual, since it was launched in conjunction with a Toriko 3D CGI film, "Toriko: Raise the curtain! Gourmet Adventure!!". In this film Luffy will lose the valuable straw hat that Shanks gave him. In their search for it, they will find an abandoned ship, in which they rescued an old pirate named Schneider, who will tell them an unexpected story about Luffy's hat.
